The Museo della Grafica was founded by the City of Pisa and the University of Pisa, with the desire to present the city with an original and highly suggestive structure that integrates the city’s Museum System. The Museo della Grafica is housed in the rooms of Palazzo Lanfranchi and it is one of the most important public collections of contemporary graphics, able to present scholars, students and enthusiasts with an excellent artistic panorama. Through the great intellectual lesson of figures such as Sebastiano Timpanaro, Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti and Giulio Carlo Argan, it collects the artistic events of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The works of the permanent collection are periodically exhibited according to a principle of preservation. However, they can always be consulted by appointment.

The activity of the Museo della Grafica is characterised by a rich and varied calendar of temporary exhibitions that are able to contact and retain the most diverse categories of users.
