Fattori&#8217;s engravings are accompanied by dresses by Emilio Pucci, one of the most original and brilliant names in 20th-century fashion, thanks to the collaboration with the Mancuso-Rauchenberger Archive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ewald Frick. Anatomy of a Scriptural Trace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>27 November 2025 \u2013 <s>31 January 2026<\/s><\/strong> <strong>extended to 5 February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition organised by the Museo della Grafica (Municipality of Pisa, University of Pisa) is curated by Maura Formica and Michael Jakob. For Ewald Frick, the world is a text composed of traces ranging from early Christian characters to the printed pages of modern books. In his fascinating work, Liechtenstein artist Ewald Frick weaves a dialogue between texts he has read and objects he has found in the most diverse places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Muselmann <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16 January \u2013 31 January 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026, the Museo della Grafica will host the Muselmann exhibition. Curated by Barbara Nahmad, the exhibition displays graphic works created by teachers and students of the Brera Academy, inspired by the &#8216;Diario di Gusen. Letters to Maria&#8217; by the painter Aldo Carpi. Carpi survived the Nazi concentration camps and was director of the Brera Academy from 1945 to 1958. His diary, containing letters and drawings, is still one of the most important artistic testimonies of life in the camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ippolito Rosellini, Pisa and the birth of modern Egyptology<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12 December 2025 &#8211; 11 January 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This exhibition celebrates the first world&#8217;s University Egyptology course held in Pisa, during the academic year 1825-1826, by the young Pisan orientalist Ippolito Rosellini. This important bicentenary aims to highlight the fundamental role of Pisa and one of its most illustrious citizens in the development of Egyptology as a modern discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tribute to Paolo Ciampini<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>21 November 2025 \u2013 <s>3 December 2026<\/s> Extended until 8 December 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition commemorates the recently deceased master Paolo Ciampini, offering a journey through his figurative universe via an evocative selection of etched portraits. The works, which belong to the Museum Collections, were donated to the University of Pisa on the occasion of the exhibition \u201cPaolo Ciampini. Biodiversity in Botanical Art<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16 July &#8211; 7 September 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Botanical Art exhibition to celebrate the diversity in plant crops closely related to humans, in conjunction with Botanical Art Worldwide 2025.<strong><br \/><br \/><\/strong>The&nbsp;<strong>73 exhibits<\/strong>, coming from all over Italy, represent the&nbsp;<strong>great variety of food plants<\/strong>&nbsp;selected over time, as opposed to the scarce variety currently cultivated worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plant specimens on display, often ancient and historic varieties, are cultivated in small quantities and are therefore in danger of disappearing. In the context of an ever-increasing global population, profound climate change and habitat loss, the&nbsp;<strong>discovery and promotion of plant genetic diversity<\/strong>&nbsp;is of great importance and is conveyed in the exhibition through the beauty of the works, and the commitment and dedication of those who&nbsp;<strong>preserve<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>protect<\/strong>&nbsp;the seeds of our future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Habitus Fidei. the robes of the confraternities: a journey through art, history and faith<\/strong><br \/><strong>9 May &#8211; 29 June 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition, curated by Lorenzo Cantoni and Alessandro Tosi, proposes a fascinating itinerary through the history of the confraternities, with particular attention to the robes and figurative documents that bear witness to their meaning and practices. Photographs by Simona Bellandi\u2019 offers a selection of photographs on the theme of the Pisan Botanical Garden, taken by photographer Simona Bellandi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition, made up of shots taken at different times of the day, formed a highly suggestive installation set up in the stairwell of Palazzo Lanfranchi, offering the public some of the most fascinating views of the Botanical Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2024\/12\/23995\/\">At the Campo Santo dei Miracoli Pisani: the Triumph of Death and other stories<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14 December 2024 &#8211; 1 May 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This exhibition, commissioned by ALI, the Association of Free Engravers \u2018Luciano De Vita\u2019 based in Bologna, features 90 works that show how the history of Pisan civilisation has offered countless possible openings for the research and creative proposition of 50 engravers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The curators of the project, Marco Fiori and Marzio Dall&#8217;Acqua, have suggested to the artists to focus on the Triumph of Death, a grandiose <em>memento mori<\/em> that, together with the Final Judgement and Inferno of Dante&#8217;s correlation and the Thebaid, was executed in the mid 14th century by Buffalmacco, one of the most prominent representatives of Gothic art in Tuscany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition captivates visitors by also offering opportunities to reflect on the present time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"Ultrasky: Discovering the Egyptian Blue from Arts to Sciences\">Ultrasky: Discovering the Egyptian Blue from Arts to Sciences<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>21 Novembre 2024 &#8211; 9 March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fascinating journey to discover Egyptian Blue, a material with high sustainability and amazing optical properties, which was forgotten in the Middle Ages, resurfacing sporadically in the Renaissance, only to be rediscovered in the 1800s. Pliny the Elder: 2000 years later<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>18 October 2024 &#8211; 6 March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion of the two-thousand anniversary of Pliny the Elder&#8217;s birth, the exhibition aims to guide the visitor through the centuries to illustrate the fortune, the influence and the multifaceted legacy of the <em>Naturalis Historia<\/em> and its author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors will be able to grasp forms, materials, colours and perspectives of that human ingenuity that &#8211; as Pliny observed &#8211; \u2018by using Art, reproduces Nature\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition, curated by Gianfranco Adornato and Alessandro Tosi, with the collaboration of Alessia Di Santi and Federico Figura, will be open until 31 January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2024\/10\/sergio-ruzzier-storie-vere-di-gatti-topi-volpi-e-pulcini\/\">Sergio Ruzzier. True stories of cats, mice, foxes and chicks<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>30 October 2024 &#8211; 2 march 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This exhibition, curated by Alice Tavoni and Matteo Pelliti, displays original plates from the most recent books that Sergio Ruzzier, one of the greatest contemporary illustrators, has published in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The artist&#8217;s irony and poetry pervade the pastel colours of his landscapes as do his unmistakable ink strokes.<\/strong> Thus, in a sequence of enchanting plates, an extravagant microcosm comes to life, where a wise fox is the best friend of an anarchic chick, and a lying mouse beguiles an inquisitive cat with his fibs. <strong>A journey through imagination that, if designed for children, will also enchant adult audiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The artist: <strong>Sergio Ruzzier<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in Milan, after his debut in <strong>Linus<\/strong> and in <strong>Lupo Alberto Magazine<\/strong>, Sergio Ruzzier moved to the United States and established himself as an illustrator. Today he is part of the <strong>Sendak Foundation and has recently translated for Adelphi \u2018Bombo-Lardo\u2019 by Maurice Sendak<\/strong>, the author&#8217;s last book published during his lifetime. In Italy, in addition to the books published for <strong>Topipittori, <\/strong>Ruzzier has also published for \u2018<strong>La Grande Illusion<\/strong>, publishing house in Pavia. He is the <strong>winner of the Andersen Prize 2023<\/strong> in the \u2018Protagonists of Children&#8217;s Culture\u2019 section and the<strong> winner of \u2018Nati per Leggere Prize, XV edition\u2019 <\/strong>(2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2024\/10\/atlante-di-pietra-incisioni-di-franco-fanelli\/\"><strong>ATLAS OF STONE. Engravings by Franco Fanelli<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11 October 2024 &#8211; 8 December 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A splendid series of engravings by Franco Fanelli, dating from 1985 to the present days, make up this exhibition, curated by Alessandro Tosi with the contribution of Gianfranco Adornato and set up on the second floor of Palazzo Lanfranchi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geology and archaeology intersect in the engraved graphics of Fanelli who proposes with his works an itinerary that has its dominant theme in the exploration of time and its manifestation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The artist: <strong>Franco Fanelli<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor of Engraving Techniques (today Art Graphics) at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin since 1987, he has carried out his artistic research mainly in the sphere of traditional processes of engraved graphics (etching, acquatint, drypoint). His most recent solo exhibitions include those held at the Simone Aleandri Gallery in Rome (2012 and 2020), the Federica Galli Foundation in Milan (2018) and the Library of Lugano (2019). The extensive retrospective dedicated to him by the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica in Rome dates back to 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2022\/06\/golf-is-art-immagini-e-storie-di-sport\/\">GOLF IS ART. Immagini e storie di sport<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition-whose title takes up the words of Rudyard Kipling (&#8220;Why Golf is Art and Art is Golf \/ we have not far to seek&#8230;,&#8221; 1898)-proposes a surprising and refined path that, between art and literature, tourism and fashion, accompanies the visitor in the discovery of the imagery related to golf, its gestures, and its landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a selection of works granted by an important private collection, a gallery is composed of prints, drawings, posters and objects from the early modern age to contemporary times. From precious 17th-century engravings to the famous cartoons of Charles Crombie (<em>The Rules of Golf Illustrated<\/em>, 1905), from 19th-century graphics to the plates of the great illustrators of the 20th century, from fine ceramics and porcelain to the plates of <em>Les Joies du sport<\/em>, an edition that appeared in Paris in 1932, which among its many illustrations, by the artist Milivoj Uzelac, includes &#8220;Le Golf&#8221; with commentary by Henri Duvernois. An evocative selection of posters from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.collezionesalce.beniculturali.it\/\">Salce Collection<\/a> also documents the imagery that in the first half of the 20th century included golf in the most elegant itineraries of Italian and international tourism. <em>Golf is Art. <\/em><em>Images and Stories of Sport<\/em> was conceived on the occasion of the 50th edition of the City of Pisa Cup, an important event organized by the historic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golftirrenia.it\/\">Tirrenia Golf Club<\/a>, and will be open to visitors during the period of the World University Golf Championships (July 20-23) organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.custorino.it\/\">Cus Torino<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition is organized by the Museo della Grafica (Municipality of Pisa, University of Pisa) under the patronage of CONI, Italian Golf Federation, Golf Club Tirrenia, Cus Torino, University of Pisa&#8217;s Center for Rehabilitation Medicine &#8220;Sport and Anatomy,&#8221; Cus Pisa, Accademia di Sant&#8217;Uberto (Turin), Club delle Balette (Jesi), Europeana, University of Pisa&#8217;s University Museum System, Terre di Pisa, and with the collaboration of the National Museum Collezione Salce of Treviso-Regional Museums Directorate of Veneto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2022\/05\/napoleone-storie-tra-immagini-e-note\/\"><strong>NAPOLEONE. STORIE TRA IMMAGINI E NOTE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition, dedicated to the image and myth of Napoleon in modernity, presents prints, books, documents and videos creating an original and evocative journey between historical memory and imagination. Noteworthy are the splendid selection of medals and prints, curated by Franca Maria Vanni and coming from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medaglierenapoleonico.com\/\">Medagliere Museum of Napoleonic Europe<\/a>, the postcards (photo sculptures) made in the early 20th century by Domenico Mastroianni and the precious papers from the Paper Museum in Pescia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition, which will continue with the section &#8220;Napoleon in Music,&#8221; curated by Alessandro Volpi, and &#8220;Napoleon in the Movies,&#8221; realized in collaboration with the Arsenal Cinema, is realized with the organizational support of the Athenaeum Museum System and with the patronage and collaboration of: Museo Medagliere dell&#8217;Europa Napoleonica, Fondazione Livorno Arte e Cultura, Fondazione Umberto Mastroianni, Cinema Arsenale, Museo della Carta di Pescia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2022\/04\/il-trittico-del-centenario-una-commedia-divina-linferno-di-claudio-sacchi\/\"><strong>IL TRITTICO DEL CENTENARIO &#8211; UNA COMMEDIA DIVINA &#8211; L&#8217;INFERNO DI CLAUDIO SACCHI<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the <strong>celebrations of Dante&#8217;s seventh centenary<\/strong>, the Museo della Grafica at Palazzo Lanfranchi in Pisa presents the <em>exhibitions Il Trittico del Centenario, Una Commedia Divina, and L&#8217;Inferno di Claudio Sacchi<\/em>. Three exhibitions to compose an evocative journey dedicated to Dante&#8217;s poem, revisited through books, paintings, graphic works and multimedia products that document its fortunes in different historical moments and up to contemporary times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Il Trittico del Centenario. Leonardo 1919 Raffaello 1920 Dante 1921<\/strong>, curated by Roberto Antonelli, Virginia Lapenta and Guicciardo Sassoli de&#8217; Bianchi Strozzi, which has already been installed in the Villa Farnesina in Rome, offers a survey of the taste and aesthetics that presided in the early postwar period over the celebrations of the centenaries of Leonardo (1919), Raphael (1920) and Dante (1921).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Una Commedia Divina<\/strong> presents editions of Dante&#8217;s poem and other bibliographic treasures from the University Library of Pisa and the Library of the Scuola Normale Superiore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>L&#8217;Inferno di Claudio Sacchi<\/strong>, created in collaboration with publisher Daniele Olschki and already set up in Florence at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, presents a series of paintings made by Claudio Sacchi, the Pesaro artist among the most influential interpreters of contemporary figuration, inspired by some of the cantos of the Inferno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibitions are produced by the Museo della Grafica (Municipality of Pisa, University of Pisa) with the collaboration of: University Library of Pisa, Library of the Scuola Normale Superiore, Sistema Museale di Ateneo, Villa Farnesina-Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/museodellagrafica.sma.unipi.it\/2021\/12\/mostra-galardini\/\">MITOGRAFIE E ALTRE FAVOLE.
